Exploring New Genres of Sensuality

February has arrived, and with it a shift to exploring new genres of sensuality.

Yes, not sexuality. Sensuality. Exploring the realistic underpinnings of sexual lifestyles, such that I can create erotic literary fiction around them that honors the wondrous variety they hold. New generations of sensuality that may heighten my own experiences.

But first, a word about January.

In a nutshell, January was AWESOME!

It actually started with my inclusion in eLust Issue 156, released towards the end of 2022. They cited my November 2022 blog post, “A Heartfelt Ode to My Influencers”. It’s always cool to get noticed, and I thank them for it.

Then January rolled up. It started with a guest spot on Dr. J’s erotic writing segment in the MON app. Dr. Donna Jennings has spent her professional life in the field of sexuality as a therapist, professor and researcher. After retirement from that, she has taken on the challenge of writing and editing stories and articles that can be found on many major platforms. I love her ability to adapt her knowledge to people of all knowledge levels.

It was fun talking shop, background and influences that have led us to the writing careers we have today. Disclaimer: she has edited my content submitted to the Meet Rosy platform, and continues to make me a better writer with each submission.

After that segment, I was asked to be Mistress K’s guest on her CuckWeek segment on cuck literotica. The latter was inspired by my blog post “My Social Experiment in the Cuckold Dynamic”, which discussed the reaction to my cuckold story Eggs and Cream in the public erotic forum Literotica. Mistress K led a beautiful discussion around the public and private perceptions of that often misunderstood lifestyle.

Much of that lies in the depiction of cuckolding and female led relationships within the male dominated world of porn. This tainted view showed up in other information I studied, which found that cheating is more acceptable than something like cuckolding, because cheating in a male-female relationship still assumes each stays in their classically-defined sexuality lane. More specifically: no real man would ever relinquish permanent control to a female.

How sadly misguided. Successful relationships are based on people understanding themselves, their partners, and their desires. The patriarchal-porn driven are threatened by highly communicative, loving couples who can live, love, and thrive in a creative monogamy. Supportive relationship dynamics, when not fetishized, are awesome, and include some of the strongest, confident men I’ve come to know.

So, What’s in Store for February?

I’m active on two fronts. The first is continued content creation for the Meet Rosy app. I’m highly supportive of this app that creates solutions to empower women on their journey towards sexual wellness. Rosy represents a new model for women’s sexual health that erases shame & isolation, offers credible & convenient interventions, and provides an evidence-based, multidisciplinary approach that cares for the whole woman throughout every stage of life.

Part of that is the recognition that erotica has its place in massaging and enticing the body’s largest sex organ, the mind, with literary erotic fiction. I certainly believe that. The erotophilic mind loves the foreplay, the tease, the seduction dance that intoxicates the senses.

A subset of that is researching and writing about different twists within sensuality. Genres I haven’t tackled yet. It will likely appear on my site first, so stay tuned.

Second, anthology season is approaching. Many anthologies are themed, and it’s tough to know what those will be, so I’ve been stockpiling, hoping to get lucky. I have a few offerings ready to go for BDSM and group play that I hope will find a home.

I’ve continued to hone my writing style around the abilities I have and are gaining. I’m still a very slow writer, but my initial versions are requiring less edits, so I’ll take that as a win.

So let’s dive in and enjoy exploring new genres of sensuality. And as always, feedback and comments are most welcome.
